If you are a beginner that would like to make money with eBay, you've come to the right place.
Although some folks are content to earn a few bucks scavenging out their closets, virtually one
million people depend upon the auction web site eBay for profit. We’ll show you can make money
on eBay without spending anything.
Basically, anyone with a computer can start up and run a successful business on eBay and make a
lot of money. So if you're reading this article. Step one is accomplished. Obviously you have
access to a computer and Internet.
Let's cut to the chase and get right to the point...
You own a computer and have access to the Internet right?
Yes!
What you need to know
The best eBay businesses sell unusual, “hard-to-find items” at discount prices. As luck would
have it, you do not require to know anything about antiques & collectibles except some basic
research is needed to find the “hard-to-find” name-brand items and to profit from them.
Why sell on eBay?
Compare a yard sale to an online auction
Yard sale: people will gather up things from around the house that they no longer use and put
them on their front lawn and turn them into some cash that can hardly cover the bills. The problem
with that is that you may have valuables that may worth more than what folks will want to pay at
your yard sale. You will probably get next to nothing for it because; people only go to yard sales
for a good bargain.
Online Auctions: permit anybody to put their particulars for sale on a global scale. Which
means if you have an item such as a special vase for sale, someone in one state may want to buy
it because it matches something that they already have and they were looking for a another one
identical to yours to make a pair. This person may offer you top-dollar for your item compare to if
you had sold it at a garage sale for only $5 or $6 dollars.
You need to know how a retail business work if you are going to sell on eBay
An industry will manufacture a product. They don't want to distribute the productions to the
worldwide population; they in turn sell wholesale amounts of merchandise in bulk to a distributor.
The wholesale distributor appends a markup cost to each product and sells them to a retail
merchant. The retail merchant appends a little more to the price of each products and sells to its
customers (you and me the buyer)
Let's get started
There are several auction sites on the Internet such as eBay, Yahoo, ebid, ubid, Amazon and so
on. eBay, is an auction site with the most members and hits. They are plainly the best option to go
with. There are no fee’s to join eBay . The only fees affiliated with marketing items on eBay takes
place when you actually list items. So the first thing you would need to do is to open up an eBay
Seller account. You would need to go to eBay.com site. On the welcome page you click Register to
create an account. It is quite a simple exercise to complete; basic information required such your
name, address, ph # and some other information. It should take no longer than 5-7 minutes to
complete. eBay will then send you a code in your email to verify your account. Check your email
and click the link, copy and paste the code in the code box. And you're done.
It's that simple.
Now you would want to set up your PayPal account so you can accept payments from people over
the internet when they purchase from you. PayPal is the largest most respected and trusted online
payment processor. There are no fees to create an account, and no monthly fees either. You only
pay a percentage on each transaction you process and you can find that information in your
PayPal back office once you set up your account. PayPal allows you to collect payments from your
buyers using credit cards and other payment methods. Follow the instructions to set up your
PayPal account from your eBay account or go to paypal.com and create one.
Once you’ve done those two things you are in a position to sell anything to anybody anywhere by
using your eBay account and thanks to your PayPal account you can now accept payments from
your buyers. Note: PayPal lets you transfer money from PayPal to your bank account so be sure
you follow the steps to get verified with PayPal and register an account with them for future
transfers in order to have physical access to your funds.
Get familiar with eBay tools in the back office. eBay gives you lots of information on how to buy,
How to sell, and how to increase your sales. eBay offers training and support for your new
business. Make sure you get through all of them. It is vital to your success “selling” on eBay.
You're ready to go ahead and start your business with eBay. Remember the yard sale idea? You
had your own inventory in your home which you gathered up for sale on the lawn. Ok! So we're not
going to go there of if you have done that already and have exhausted your personal inventory,
you need this next step. You are not going to need to go around the neighborhood looking for junk
or cheap deals to auction online either. There's nothing really wrong with that idea, it's just that
takes up much too much time than it's really worth.
You’re thinking about making money right?
Right!
It is in your best interest that you learn how to locate merchandises for you to distribute. If you're
going to sell products on eBay, you require a consistent source of products supply. You need to
be sure that you can buy those products at a true wholesale cost so that you are able to establish
a profit once you sell them to your buyers on eBay at your retail cost. Which means that you have
to find a wholesale supplier that will work with you.
When you sell merchandises online do not spend your own money up front for these products or
for storage of your merchandise. What you will need is a "drop shipper". With a drop shipper
you won't have to worry about stocktaking, or storage, no up front unnecessary overhead
spending, just earnings!
Abolish the command overhead expense mentality for your online business. It’s Old School
• Find a drop shipper that carries the merchandise you wish to sell example of some are
megagoods.com, wholesalematch.com or simply type in Google [dropshipper]
• A drop Shipper will provide you with pictures and descriptions of the products, maybe even
catalogues, so you can upload the information to your eBay account and offer it to the public.
• You sell the item on eBay for $99.99 [just an example]
• EBay/PayPal charges the customer credit card plus shipping & put the $$ in your Paypal acc.
• This money gets transferred directly into your bank account [you would need to physically
transfer the money from your Paypal acc to your bank acc]
• You email the order to the drop shipper.
• They ship the product directly to the buyer from their warehouse with your business name on the
package.
• The drop shipper charges you the wholesale price of, let say $56.00, plus shipping which you've
already received from the customer, so it cost you nothing.
• Your order is complete. You just made $43.00 on your sale and you didn't have to touch the
product or carry any overhead cost.
Note: When you research your wholeseller, do your homework to make sure you are getting the
best possible deal, Google their names, find out if they are registered with the better business
bureau and that they've checked out. Get some references on the company you decide to partner
up with. Find out how long they’ve been in business. You are looking for a long term relationship
with this company ["do your homework"] This article cannot replace your do diligence, so get more
information on the facts.
Best of luck with your eBay business!
